Longton Park is located in the village of Longton near Preston, Lancashire. This park is a popular community spot that offers a peaceful place for walking, picnicking, and enjoying the outdoors. One of the main attractions of Longton Park is the children's play area, making it a favourite amonst families who visit. To further enhance the park's appeal and ensure its long-term sustainability, the local council issued a tender to update the space.
Within the design proposal of transforming the childrens area we included a wide varitey of equipment for a range of ages and skill sets. Featured in the images below is a toddler area that we create - included in this 'zone' is a colourful, multi-play play ship, a wheelchair accessible roundabout, two post mounted Play Panels, a Vehicle Springy that is suitable up to 8 children at once, 3 Cradle Seat Swing Bays and two pieces of fitness equipment (Stepping Posts and Pull Up Bars) for children to enjoy. The variety of equipment used throughout this area encourages children to development a range of skills as they play.
One of the biggest units included in the design is the Steel+ Multi-Play Unit 1710 (See images below). This piece of equipment is suitable for children from the age of 3-14 years old, encourages physical & motor skills development whilst providing lots of elements of fun and adventure as children make their way around.

The Cone Climber is great for multi-play item and helps to build skills such as strength & fitness, balance and co-ordination and confidence, as they climb around and to the top of the net.
This beloved traditonal piece of playground equipment offers a rocking motion that develops fine motor skills as children grasp the handles as well as balance and coordination as they operating these apparatuses.
Our twin steel swing comes with an inclusive basket swing seat and two flat seats and is perfect for up to 6 children to enjoy at once. Allowing children to play on a swing has lots of wonderful benefits...from social development, motor skills and co-ordination, to sensory skills, body awareness and stress relief.
Trim trails are made up of a range of exercise equipment that can be used to do various exercises to develop balance, strength and coordination. We created this area within the play area to allow older children to build up their fitness levels and challenge themselves to get from one end to the other.
