Kingsbury Primary School

The play area before was sparce of play equipment and the ground was water logged limiting the use of the space for the children. The playground was a great sized space as a foundation for us to create zones for the playground to cover specific styles of play.

We created 5 'zones' which included sensory, imaginative, role play, active and an area for the children to relax.

The sensory zone was made up of a Sensory Archway featuring musical chimes and coloured perspex that has a rainbow reflection on the ground when the sunlight shines through. The enterence also has Bongo and Bells HDPE musical panels which are mounted onto the fence which is great as the children get extra equipment without taking up anymore floor space. The area also featured a fence mounted dry wipe board and mounted chalk board to give the children an area to be creative and doodle away! We also added a story teller's corner featuring our popular Storyteller's Chair and two Curved Benches. This addition to the area is a great way for children to socialise and practice their reading. Its not only for the children, this chair is suitable for adults too so the teachers can enjoy sharing a story with the children themselves.

A mud kitchen area is popular amongst schools due to the importance of role play and how it assists with a child's development. In the mud kitchen areas children get to pretend play, use their imagination and build on their fine motor skills through the Mud Kitchen, Mud Table and Pulley System. The children can pretend play and create the most disgustingly yummy mud and twig pie recipes, enjoy cleaning their kitchen and serving them up to their friends in a restauarant style on our .

In the center of the playground features our timber Basket Swing which is always a fun addition to a play space. We included our Create-A-Trail blocks in the area which are moveable and kept the floor space relitively clear so the children can use this as free space to play. Re surfacing the area with Artificial Grass made a huge improvement; the children can now play no matter the weather.

Kingsbury Primary School wanted an area for the children fit for some quiet time, to get some shade and just relax with their friends. Adding a Sail Shade to the area was a great solution of providing shade without completely closing the area off. The area also includes our popular Circular Picnic Table and colourful windowed Wig Wam!

Last but certainly not least, we added a large climbing unit into the space...The Double Otter... This is a supurb unit and our most popular play frame. It has two large sheltered platforms, a connecting bridge and 4 different ways of manouvering up/down the platforms: scramble net, HDPE slide, timber stairs and log steps with rope.

The area was complete with a bespoke Timber Canopy built to provide the school shelter for resources and also to shelter the children from the elements with a quality made polycarbonate roof and PVC guttering.

This area has completely transformed, which is what we enjoy to do... The staff over at Kingsbury Primary School are made up with the results of the play ground and we are so happy that the children can now have plenty of outdoor fun.

"The site lads had a great attitude when on site and got on with the job despite very poor weather conditions. They are a credit to Playsound"
